My 4 year old daughter is having problems sleeping

My 4 year old daughter has never had any real big problems sleeping. Just for the last month or so she can't sleep. I'll lay her in bed with me and I'll wake up through out the night to use the restroom and she'll be wide awake. She has freaked me out several times.

I took her to the doctor and he shrugs it off stating that it could be because I am 8 months pregnant and that shes anticipating the change. I also have a 5 year old son that continues to sleep like a baby himself.

Do you have any suggestions on what I might be able to do to assist her in sleeping?

hi,

You can read her a story just before bedtime. Also make sure that she eats full dinner and that she plays with other kids in the evening. I think it is just a passing phase. At the same time do not be anxious yourself and try to relax.

hmmm... i don't believe in co-sleeping.  what did you do to get your 5 year old to sleep on his own?  i think that they get woken up by us adults tossing & turning in bed.  is she tired during the day?
