Nocturnal Myoclonic Spasms????

Hi Everyone,

I am having major sleep issues that have been going on during the past few years.  During this time I have been fighting a severe life threatening systemic candiadias infection.  I have also developed a motility disorder of the esphoghus and am on a pureed diet.  I have major health problems but for now I just want to concentrate on the night time attacks.

I have multiple attacks of a night that keep me awake for hours.  Basically it just feels as if every single muscle in my body convulses just as I fall asleep.  All my muscles tense up and I jolt up out of my sleep.  I am then left with severe pain, muscle weakness, pins and needles throughout my body, but there are variations to these attacks.  

Sometimes the Tachycardia (Diagnosed with Tachycardia) starts up and my hearts races for a minute or two before settling down.  This has been picked up on a holter monitor.  Other times I get this massive rush that starts in my legs races through my body and basically finishes with what feels like an explosion in my head.  I am left with major headaches when this occurs.  

Now apart from the motility disorder and the candida they cannot find any cause for these attacks.  So they have come to the conclusion that the Candida causing the release of Mast cells that are attacking my Central Nervous System causing these attacks.  

But I am on quite strong medication for the Candida (Voriconazole) and the attacks are actually worsening.  It is not the medication causing the attacks as they happened even before the Candida was diagnosed.  Plus their are signs that suggest that this latest medication is actually working in defeating the candida.  So I am concerned that it is not the Candida causing the attacks, but something else.  Especially since they have never found a reason for the severe candida infection in the first place.  The doctors cannot understand why I have such a severe infection when all searches for cancer or an auto-immune system disease have come up negative.

If anyone has suffered from these sleep disorders then please let me know, maybe what you say may help me to steer my doctor in the right direction to get a diagnoses for this condition.  One final note is that 3 brothers in my family suffer from epilespy and one died when he choked during a night time fit.  I have had one day time test for epilespy which was negative, but my doctor is trying to arrange a sleep study, which is near impossible in our backed up medical system (Australia)

You are going to think this is totally off the wall, but here goes anyway:  Check out Kundalini awakening (Google) and the work of Peter Levine on trauma.  He has published two excellent books.  

Based on my own experience, here is what I think is possible:  You experienced a major trauma that has remained unresolved over your lifetime.  In that circumstance your life force is diminished to such an extent that it could allow Candida to flourish in your system.  The nocturnal myoclonic spasms could be a discharge of energy, typical in a K awakening and also necessary in the renegotiation of trauma.  

There is nary a medical doctor around who would see my info as credible.  I can only suggest that you research for yourself and see what you think.  If someone could have given me the same advice a few years ago, I would be much further along today than I am.  I, too, have nocturnal muscle spasms, sometimes keeping me awake for hours at a time.  And I believe I have a major intestinal Candida infection.  I worry that I am "toast," should I require much in the way of antibiotics in the next few years.

One last thought:  If you have experienced a K awakening--or similar--you probably cannot tolerate any Candida meds, as the awakened K energy is already starting to kill off the C infection.  Dying Candida is much more toxic than live C in your system.
