Hi, my son gets this regularly. It is very common in people with vestibular migraine and vertigo disorders. Noone seems to know exactly what it is but it is very common amongst people that I have spoken with about this issue.
Hello,Ihave the same problem with my eyes...and they are moving so intense when I close them..my main symptom is as you have said that I wake up every morning feeling exhausted and like that I have not slept at all..and this make my every day life more difficult but i also have some other symptoms which maybe are being connected with all those do you also have(like memory problems or concentration)?I will have a sleep test so as to examine whether sth goes wrong with that..
I get this problem often enough that I worry about it sometimes, but not so often that I've forked out the huge lump of money that I'd have to to get an appointment with my optometrist. I'm also experiencing a change of vision (which is totally normal for my age and family history). I thought it was the rapid eye movement of the REM cycle coming too soon and distracting me. When it happens it's REALLY annoying and stops me from sleeping, but luckily it doesn't happen too often, only when I read or watch TV more than usual. So far nothing bad has happened, and it's been happening over about 5 years now.
I've had an EEG (for completely different reasons) and my brainwaves were 'mildly abnormal' but I can't get an MRI for at least another year to find out what that might mean. Doctors reckon I'm developing either bipolar or schizophrenia; have had mood/psychotic/dissociative/anxiety symptoms for up to 5 years, about the same time as the eye movements. But when they started, it was just severe depression that was the problem, nothing florid.
So that probably doesn't answer any of your questions, but I hope it helps some.
