Sleep disorder?

My husband is 36 years old and follows a healthy diet (2,000 calories a day, low red meat, low fat, low sodium, high in lean meat, high in vegetables, high in fiber). He gave up caffine about a year ago and gets a lot of exercise at work as well as at home. He was on blood pressure medication but has really stuck with this healthy diet and has been able to drop a good amount of weight and was able to quit taking the meds. He is now at a healthy weight with good blood pressure and checked out in great shape at his last physical. So we know this is not illness or disease related. But he is still having problems sleeping. It takes him forever to fall asleep and once asleep it takes a LOT of effort to wake him back up. He doesn't snore, he doesn't toss and turn. I've never seen or caught him to stop breathing during sleep and he doesn't have a lot of dreams/nightmares. Even when he's occassionally able to get some good sleep time in he wakes up feeling even more exhausted than before. He never feels rested and he feels drained of energy all of the time. Does this sound like any of the symptoms that might be associated with a sleep disorder or does this sound like anyone else's situation? Any advice would be much appreciated!
