Too much sleep

Every so often, I get incredibly exhausted and have to go to sleep at six or seven in the evening and usually don't wake up or don't feel refreshed until the next morning. I don't go to bed very late, usally around ten or so, and I don't don't very hard work. I am also seventeen. Also, every so often I have days where I feel just horrible and I don't know why. I'm not sure if anything's wrong or if this is normal, but please enlighten me if you can. Thanks.

I would defiantly talk to your doctor about getting this further checked into. I am not saying that i think something is wrong with you but if you notice something different you should always check with your doctor.

Do yo have any other issues related to sleeping, I know that may sound like a weird question but I ask because I was recently having sleep issue and went through a polysomnogram. I was having issues feeling very exhausted for no reason and sleeping for hours and not feeling refreshed. I am also 17 and after my test the doctor speculated that I may have idiopathic hypersomnia, basically I feel really tired for no reason but he said that the test was not conclusive and I should have another test done. But I had a lot of other symptoms so I doubt there is anything to worry about. Like I would take naps during the day for like 4 or 5 hours and still feel tired when I woke up. When I woke up in the morning I would need like 3 alarm clocks to wake me up.

I suggest undergoing a formal sleep study which is called a polysomnography.  It will tell you a wealth of info. regarding your sleep quality.  Your primary care doctor should refer you to a sleep clinic to help diagnose this sleep problem.
