Took 1 vicodin, 16 hours later I can't sleep

Hi, I've never taken vicodin before. About 16 hours ago I took one 500 MG pill.

I can't sleep at all, I lie down and my heart rate increases. I almost fall asleep and it feels like im about to suffocate and I immediately wake up. Any help please?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Don’t venture to discontinue your medications without consulting your doctor. The symptoms could be the side effects of the medications. Discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications.
