What is this problem and why does it happen?

Hello! My name is Brett and I'm 20 years old.

My issue regards sleep/dreams, Nightmares to be more specific.
It is a very odd and almost indescribable feeling, but I'm going to do the best I can.
First off, this happens quite often, the occurrence is completely random, but I know for a fact this isn't the first time I have experienced it. I can tell you every time it happens, something goes very wrong in the dream I am having. The most recent one happened moments ago and I finally can remember a small part of the dream. Unfortunately I am losing it the longer I wait to articulate on it so I'm going to start now before I forget.

In this dream, I'm not sure exactly what was going on, but I know I was with my good friend that I have been hanging out with recently. In the dream, I was under the influence (I'm pretty sure it was alcohol, but it could have been a controlled substance), and we were climbing a staircase (similar to one inside a parking garage) to access a certain floor. On the way up I remember commenting on how whatever I was on was effecting me and I was glad that there wasn't a certain person around (pretty sure it was either my father or the police). I went to send a text to whoever it was to pick us up from where ever exactly we were. I don't remember the content of the text or who it went to. Almost immediately afterword, my phone lit up and as if on a movie, a text appeared in a very generic format saying "don't worry we know where you are" and it shook me silly. In the dream I remember thinking who I accidentally sent a message to, and then in the dream my vision went blurry and I lost all sense of balance and hand eye corridination and fell to floor, my friend having disappeared. Then during the dream, my body from my head to my toes started trembling (similar to how your head feels after you get hit very hard on the top or sides of the skull). Most prominently I felt it in my teeth, my head and my shoulders. Slowly my dream world blacked out and I woke again, but I was still feeling the trembling, and I couldn't move, breathe, or open my eyes, and my ears were ringing. That continued for what seemed like hours, although it was only a few seconds (I could vaguely hear the TV through the ringing in my ears) and then suddenly I snapped completely back to normal and was gasping. I hopped online in hopes to find something similar but didn't find anything that quite described what I was feeling or what happened. This has happened several times, and every time in the dreams, the only thing I remember is that I was in some form of danger or peril (this instance of "danger" was really not danger at all but this is probably the least detrimental situation I was in during the dream). If anyone has any knowledge on what is happening to me in my dreams, or if anyone is experiencing the same thing please respond ASAP. It happens very frequently and I'm starting to worry. Oh and also, while I'm in between being awake and "paralyzed" and snapping awake, it feels like a process of falling or something. Kinda like being sucked through a straw or falling and hitting the ground if that makes any sense, I'm not sure quite how to put it into words. Thank you!
