Also a good cardio or something to get your heart pumping for at least 20 minutes in the morning is great.  It'll get you up and going for the day and help you to use your energy in the day rather than storing it up for the evening.  Good luck!

I agree with jonetwo3....ditch the meds, find natural ways.  The meds will just mask the problem and won't help the cause.

One word....yoga.

Do a good bedtime-geared routing right before bed, one with simple relaxing poses meant for helping you ease your mind and body.  I bet you'll find that you have a hard time relaxing your body and doing deep yoga breathing.  Yoga is great at helping you tune into your body and get those pesky thoughts to go away.  (Try AM/PM Yoga for Beginners)

Also, a good engaging novel can help.  Not a book about learning to do stuff or related to work or whatever but something with a story that can pull you in and get you out of your daily thoughts.

Another good tip is a good bedtime tea...I've found Yogi's Stress Relief tea really helps.

My routine that I've found to kick my insomnia has been...lots of water with dinner, some tea before yoga, a good half hour bedtime yoga routine, 5 minutes of deep breathing and then go straight to bed or spend about 15 minutes reading.  It's really important not to do anything after yoga like going on your computer, paying bills or anything that might pull you out of your bedtime, meditative state.

Valerian IS the way to go.  But, do not take every day.  Nothing will work well if taken regularly (you build up a tolerance).

Also, stay away from restaurants....they (virtually all) use MSG, which is a stimulant.  Try making your own food at home, and use all natural ingredients, and you may find your sleep improving.

change your diet..get on "candida diet" if you're not sure what to be eating
stop taking any meds or drugs
take "all natural and preservative free" multi vitamin, vitamin b, and calcium supplement daily
take flax fiber daily
take flax oil daily..read directions (omega 3 is crucial in your healing)
drink as much water as possible daily
get some form of steneous exercise everyday..or start with walking at least
do deep breathing (relaxation techniques..look this up) daily

do all these daily and you will be feeling better in no time..do it consistently. God bless!

I have found help in Melatonin, Valerian and or Calms Forte, all can be found at Walmart, and I have mixed the Melatonin and the Valerian, it seems that one puts you to sleep, and the keeps you to sleep. Hope it helps :)
