I have had these to, Sometimes my eyes would be wide awake and I am aware of my surrounds but in a catatonic state. At times my body will float outside of my body as I am fully aware of what is happing. This usually happens if your taking anti-depressants or for me if I fall asleep to quick. It can be scary, but I have learned to control where I go sub conscientiously.
For the noise in your head, this should be looked at by your Doctor. It could be something important.

Hi big_mc, how are you? Your symptoms seem little strange. You might be probably having sleep paralysis, which occurs when you may go to sleep or may tend to wake up from sleep. It is a temporary phenomenon where in you are incapable of moving your body or even part of it physically but may try to shout loudly or seek someone’s help. It may be lasting for a few seconds to minutes. It can repeat once again if you sleep. There may not be any physical injury to body but you will be probably frightened with sweating and increased heart beat, one may feel a shortness of breath or air hunger. You need to reassure yourself nothing has happened and nothing is going to happen. Try to change your sleeping position and avoid sleeping supine, and better to sleep little early. Few things like avoiding - alcohol at night with smoking, caffeine, too spicy bulky meal and going to bed late night can be helpful. Most important thing is to get rid of stress. It is better to consult a neurologist and a sleep specialist for an evaluation. Take care and update your views.

Hi big_mc, hope you are getting better? Try to relax and be assured of getting rid of it. Plan for an appointment with the sleep specialist if symptoms continue. I Drema1, thanks for your reply and I am sure you will do well. You need to be relaxed and follow the healthy sleep habits on long term, which will be on great help in normalizing your sleep cycle. Few of the sleep tips mentioned in early post need to be regularly followed, as most of them tend to avoid triggers. Stress need to be overcome by relaxation techniques. It is good to avoid medications and get investigated by sleep specialist. Do update on your doctor consultation. Take care.

Sounds like your in the right place it could be sleep paralysis with hypnagogic hallutionations, i would definately go to a sleep doctor because if you go to a psychiatrist you would almost definately be diagnosed schizophrenia instead of having a investigation of your problems you would be catergorized schizophrenia and the meds for that would help you sleep better, however, the stigma sucks and they would tell you no matter what you wanted to do with your life that you are to sick and that it would be selfish to want kids. Definately go to a sleep doc and get a sleep study because their meds work too. Sincerely

Hi big_mc, how are you doing? Hope you may be better now? Have you consulted the sleep specialist and is the sleep study done? Do relax and better not to sleep alone. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can be tried for some time and do overcome the stress. You may also keep observing for some more time as it might stop after a few months if you take care of avoiding the triggers and follow a healthy sleep habit as mentioned early. Take care and share your thoughts.
