Hi.
The time required to adjust to a CPAP machine varies from patient to patient. Some adjust to the treatment within a few weeks while others need longer periods to get accustomed to it. There are a few people who have to ultimately give up.
If you are not facing any nasal congestions or rhinitis and are able to sleep properly, then you should be back to normal in a few days time. Just in case if some problems related to a good fit exist, you can try out some other brand/model. Cognitive behavioral therapy at the beginning of usage of the machine also increases compliance.
Hope this gives you some insight.
Good luck!
I have used my CPAP for some time now. I have never received the lift I here so much about. any ideas?
Hi cindyk388, how are you doing? Are you able to sleep well after starting to use CPAP machine and are you following you up with your doctor? It is difficult to say as to how many days you require to get used to the CPAP machine without any difficulties, could be even just a couple of days. You can feel the sleep changes by time as your sleep and daily routine activities improves.
