I got tested twice at a sleep center and was diagnosed with RLS. It surprised me-I guess it got worse and worse gradually and I didn't realize that was the problem. I thought I had a breathing problem or something. The doctor put me on Requip and it's been great. I've been able to sleep better and not be tired all day. In the sleep center, they monitor all kinds of things (heartrate, breathing, leg movement) so they can figure out what's wrong. It's well worth the hassle of doing it
Ge to the doc so you can be tested at a sleep clinic. They can tell you more about whether you have RLS as they will be monitoring you throughout the night.
Did your doctors suggest a sleep study?
my mate also has similar symptoms & he says he is not aware of the jerky movement while he sleep although lately it has also moved to his upper body as well & he seems to be struggling to breathe while his upper body does this ...I am not sure if apnea is present or not I cannot really tell as the jerking can be pretty violent at times ...also I am not sure if there is any rhythm to your episodes or not but I have counted to 7 many times & my husband would have another almost every 7 secs.....I have tried to wake him ,, also tried to move his legs over without even so much as waking him only to have them to continue on ...My husband also can become very drowsy at times if he gets really still after coming in from work & sitting watching tv or something ..He is only 37 but has had these leg tremors for at least 15 yrs that I know of .but only recently have they also moved to his upper chest area ...I am very concerned ..I wish I could help you & your mate with a solution for the problem but as you see I am struggling with the same issue I just thought maybe you knowing you are not the only would would offer some console ...I would appriciate any feed back also on this issue....Wish I could help ............***@****
