shortness of breath and sleep apnea
I am a 61 year old healthy male, no drugs or alcohol.  I wake up every morning short of breath and gasping for air.  I was recently diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea with severe AHI. When I can take a nap during the day, my lungs feel fine. I recently got CPAP.  I have to yawn frequently to get air down my lungs.  Can Obstructive Sleep Apnea cause shortness of breath?

Not sure why, but the first few months I was on cpap I yawned a lot. At some point it stopped. I've read of a couple others saying the same thing. Maybe someone reading this will know the "why'.
