sleep terror seizure or other ?

Hello,
I have been diagnosed with sleep terrors and a seizure disorder (related to sleep). I have another sleep disorder and I wonder if any one has ever heard of this or could please help.

I fall asleep, make a noise (I have never heard the noise, but my husband has described it as loud and kind of like I may start a sleep terror but I dont scream, sorry I know this is a vague description, but that is how he describes it). Afterwards I sit up, hyperventilate, wake up and immediatly fall back asleep. This can happen 3-6 times a night usually consecutively.  I am briefly aware that I am sitting up and hyperventilating, the rest I think happens in my sleep.


I would appreciate if any one could tell me if they have ever heard of this before and what it is?

Hi, you may probably hava nightmare/ bad dream or so besides sleep apnea which worsens the situation, do you remember of any stimulus to it? do undergo a sleep study to evaluate better. Keep updating about visits. Bye.

Hello.

I am not sure if you have a seizure. The best way to find out is a video EEG. This will record the sitting up episode and also the noise. It may be a part of your sleep apnea.

To follow up on this post, I also have sleep apnea and use an auto adjust  bipap machine. I am healthy, slightly underweight and active.
