That's right. To get it out of your head - give yourself some breathing room and not have them running through your head compounding upon themselves.
It means you can start to also see patterns in what is worrying you. Maybe even see a professional of some sort if you are really worried about it.
Remember that you are stronger than all the thoughts and emotions you are having at any one time. the feelings do pass and you can look at them more objectively when they're on paper and not stuck in your head.

I think she meant it is a lot easier to sleep if You write all these thoughts involving the Anxiety down on paper to get them off your chest. That way you're not trying to sleep when your mind is in thinking mode and constantly worrying
on nights i cant sleep i get anxiety coz i cant fall asleep and that makes it worse so ur saying to just write it down??
Hi,
There's most likely a few things that can help that don't involve any medications or 'tricks' to get to sleep.
There must be things going on in your mind that need to get some air time for your unconscious mind to feel heard.
With my clients i've asked them to keep a small note book at the side of the bed and just before going to sleep - to dump out all the 'To Do' stuff in the front of the book and to dump out all the 'negative thoughts' into the back of the notebook. It lets the unconscious mind relax and i've found that they are getting results. It may take a couple of nights to kick in - but the anxiety has a purpose for you and if you can find it... and feel that you are in control of all the noise - you should find you're more at peace - even in waking time.

There is herbal medication You can take to help You sleep which is natural. Although if You do not want medication at all I am not sure. A lot of health shops provide these herbal tablets. You could try tiring yourself out more although I assume with two boys You would already be doing a fair amount of running around.
