waking dreams

Hi,
My son is 12 years old and has always had a problem when its time to go to bed. He always tries to stay up longer so he doesn't have to go. Last night he claimed he was having "visions", not dreams about myself and mu husband getting killed by demons and, when trying to get him to go to school today he was giving me a very hard time saying even though he's awake ,every five minutes he was seeing the same thing over and over again. I'm very concerned because I don't know what could be going wrong with him. He was very sick since August and just recently got back to school . Every week it  seems there's a day that he doesn't want to go to school. I did call his guidance counselor today to set up a meeting with her and all 0of his teachers to see if they noticed anything or if his grades were dropping or it looked like he just couldn't concentrate.
If someone can help that would be great.
sincerely,
hopeful
