why do I feel myself fighting when I'm asleep??

Most of the time when I'm asleep, usually dreaming about something,I feel myself punching the wall and bed and my legs are like marching hardly..Sometimes I even hear myself making noises that even my mom can hear me fighting in the bed..Does this mean I have a sleeping disorder??

I was wondering if you might help us out by answering a one-question survey?  If you have a moment, go to the front page (hit the back to community button at the top of this page) and locate the poll about sleep topics. I would love to have your feedback. Thanks, H.

Have you discussed this with your doctor at all? There's a sleep disorder called "sleep behavior disorder" or "REM behavior disorder" that you may want to get testing to rule out.

Here's a little more information from a doctor's response a while back:

I think you are having nightmares? I experienced a similar situation before wherein I could hear my own voice in my dreams and I could even hear my own snore. I usually had many nightmares and my sister who's sleeping beside me always recounts the morning after how noisy I was in bed. It usually happens especially when I am stressed and exhausted. It is good to de-stress yourself before going to bed and relax your mind with a few minutes of meditation.
