1 Year...NO Cigarettes

Well Just wanted to share that i havent had a cigarette in 1 year and it feels so GOOD. I feel like i accomplished something for once in my life...i am so proud. For those who say they cant quit trust me you can..i use to always say i cant stop but i did...its been hard because i am surrounded by smokers (fiance being one). there were so many times i've wanted to pick up a cigarette, even at my most stressful times but didnt. I'm just so proud of myself..thought i'd share...for those trying to quit...YOU CAN DO IT

Wow Kathyjo..you should be so proud to kick a 38 yr habit...thats so amazing..as for radtec01 it took me quite a few months before i felt normal also, I also felt really crappy at first but I'll tell ya I feel great. As hard as it is for me, I quit cold turkey and have a fiance who is a chain smoker. I try to encourage him but he's obviously not ready to quit. I hope and pray he wakes up one day like i did and just throw out the pack of cigarettes...well radtec01 congrats on not smoking for 4 months...keep up the good work...and you year is coming up frewsh..so proud of you

You asked Jizi the question, but since it took me so long to feel better, I wanted to let you know that you are not alone.
The first 4 months I felt horrible. I had a total of 3 sinus infection, bronchitis and pleurisy. I was in bed more then out of, but I hung in there and right after that 4 month mark, it turned around : )
I have been smoke free for 10 months and I can''t tell you how wonderful I feel. I can even jog on the treadmill for a mile!!!!  Considering I smoked for 38 years, I would say that it is quite an accomplishment : ) I don't use my advair inhaler often, maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks.
Hang in there and you will feel better soon. If you don't feel well soon, go see your doctor and tell him/her that you recently quit.
Congratulations!
