Best way to quit smoking

What is the best way to quit smoking, I tend to get panicky if I thinkof not having a cigarette, Had acute bronchitis lateoctober 2010, and am still couphing alot, I tried the e-cigarettes they made me couph worse, any suggestions,,

Not even kidding you I spent about a full day going through the articles on whyquit.com and I had serious nightmares that exact night... I had one more cigarette which I only took 3 puffs of and quit cold turkey from that moment on... I broke the rest of the 11 cigarettes in my pack in half and flushed them down the toilet.  Never smoked since.

Hi Deb and welcome to the forum.  Cold Turkey is how I quit back in April last year and I quit because like you, I got acute bronchitis in Dec09 for only the second time in my life which scared me good and 9mos later, I am Still using my inhaler.  Don't waste your time with NRT's.  Will just drag the whole process out. If you are really ready to quit, never take another puff, then just do it.  It's really the only way.  Do check out the articles at whyquit.com to give yourself a push.
