My fatheris 60 years old and he has been smoking I think since he was 17. He smokes usually 5-10 Basic Menthol Lights a day. He coughs constantly, snores horribly and coughs up what he calls "lung cookies".
He always reaks of smoke. His office reaks of smoke. His truck reaks of smoke.
I want him to live a long time, and he's been talking about quitting, but he seems to smoke more and more.
He refuses to try any patches or medications.
While it's great you want your dad to quit, it's your DAD who has to want it for it to happen. Quitting smoking is a tough thing and unless the smoker is ready to quit, I'm sorry but there's not a lot you can do other than continue to encourage him to stop.
