Leave the cigarette and catch Marijuana. Its much better than tobacco , it fights against the cancer. you will not face any type of health problems with Marijuana. In a Country COLORADO Weed is legalised due to its benifits. you can search in google also.. .... Bye take care .. see ya ...... - Bob Marley !

Hello I CAN RESONATE WITH YOU i am a secret female smoker and i am 17 and i had my first one this month in april the 12th at a party  and the first time it made me cough a bit :p

Anyways since then i figured out who my smoking friends are and some turn out to be good friends i'v known since primary school ! Since then i'v had for my second smoke sesh  3 ciggies . And then the week after that i had on one day spreaded through the day 4-5 ciggs . So that is ruffly altogether 8-9 ciggs .
But  i find like 2 days later a cigg with no ciggs at home i get irritable ,hot and bothered and depressed ! So like usually it's 4-5 days between each smoke sesh but before hand we go do some girly stuff .
But i am a total secret smoker and so is my older sibling but i don't want him to know i secretly smoke now and i'v discovered his habit from smell yrs ago and a stash in his room like 7 times ! I even found matches in his room score !
The trick is  to have a limit my limit is 5  a day so far . And i cover up the habit with deo.perfume and mints/gum . And if i hide some ciggs given to me by my lovely friend(s) then i put in a spot i know no one ever suspects .
Hope we all have the strength not to be full on smokers but to be social /casual smokers if we do have ciggs .
I know for me it reliefes my stress and gives me something to feel all posh about ..don't tease me it really does relief my stress.
All the best ..secretsmokerchick here in Australia.

I used smoking for a friend, a confidant.  It was my close personal buddy at that particular time in my life.  Once I started to deal with the root of why I smoked then it was easier for me to pinpoint what I needed to do to quit.  Hope that helps.

Aamir - why are you asking if you should start or stop smoking?  If you can find one person (who is not a teenager) that smokes or used to smoke and will tell you that its not a big deal - I'll give you a million dollars.  No smoker ever started smoking and said "I'm going to smoke forever!"  Everyone said - I'm in control and I'll stop eventually - I just enjoy it now and I'm young.  Most people can't even tell you why they started smoking - there is really no actual reason to smoke.  "my friends smoke" is not a reason - then why do they smoke?  Believe me as a smoker for over 20 years there is no actual enjoymenet.  You become a slave to the cigarettes.  You dont' have to believe me - but if you keep smoking just remember in 10 or 20 years from now that I told you that you would become a slave to the cigs.

Do you know how many cells in your body have to change in order for you to get lung cancer?  All they have to do is change now - and you might get lung cancer if 30 years from now even if you never smoke another cigarette.  One cell.  ONE out of your billions of cells need to change and you get cancer.   And its not a matter of "will I get lung cancer or won't I?  You will 100% get lung cancer one day if you keep smoking - everyone will unless they die of something else first - which is pretty likely to happen much sooner if you keep smoking.

So go ahead and keep smoking if you want - but first admit to yourself that you are a complete and total idiot.  I am a complete and total idiot for smoking all those years and for even starting.

You'll never find a smoker or ex smoker that given the opportunity again would start smoking all over again.  There's no one that says - it was fun while it lasted I'd do it all over again!

One more thing - i never thought i was addicted and thought i could stop at anytime..........pffffff....very wrong.
Its hard to stop but maybe knowing that nicotine is a "class A poison" may help.(google it if you dont believe me)

I hope you do quite because it sounds like your addicted.
im 29 and started smoking at 13 or 14 iv had a semi collapsed lung and double phenomia and wish id never smoked as id be alot healthier now, i have a baby on the way(never thought that would happen) and wish to live as long as possible to see them grow up.
I hope you stop before its too late.

I would stop. I started smoking one or two a day at 13. By fifteen I smoked a pack a day. I'm twenty now and I cough all the time. My chest hurts. Quit if you can!

When I finally got serious about quitting what I did was I went for a run every time I wanted to smoke.  So I got my body in shape while I was quitting, it kept some of the blues away and helped the withdrawals.

Thank you. I sure wish someone had said those things to me when I was seventeen!

You are seventeen. Wouldnt you rather smell good than like an ashtray? Smoking yellows our teeth, gives us bad breath (which means only boys who smoke are gonna be interested), Your hair and clothes stink and dabbling will make you a smoker doing one or two packs a day before long. Get off of em now while you can. They cause premature wrinkles and are down right expensive. If that doesnt do it, check out some of the ones that have to carry oxygen with them just to breathe. Yes, it can happen to you and sooner than you might think. All reasons to stop. I cannot think of one good reason to smoke. Can you?

There are no "early signs", you just shouldn't smoke. Every cigarette does your body harm. Heck even the second hand smoke from your friends does your body harm. And just because you have "full control" over it now, doesn't mean that can't change very fast.

Note I smoked the "occasional" cigarette when I was about 12. For about only several months no more than 3-5 a week. I stopped because I noticed I was craving it more and more. When I turned 18 I got really stressed and started smoking. Only for a month during the summer. When I turned 21 I started smoking, I smoked for 3 years. I quit a few months ago and am still struggling with not smoking.

Now I don't know about others but when I started suffering nicotine withdraws I would get migraines and my head felt a little "cloudy". I had a harder time concentrating on school work. A couple tests: Why don't you stop for a week and see how you do without them. That might help you see if you are really addicted to them. Also you can do a jog, climb up a flight of stairs and then take a deep breath. If that's feeling more difficult than it used to you're definitely doing your body damage.
