Smoking in MOderation

I smoke a cigar or cloved ciggarettes about once a month. I inhale the ciggarettes and just puff the cigars. Once a month i will have either 1 cigar, or maybe 3 cloved cigs in 1 sitting. My question to you is, is this bad for my health? Am i more likely to get cancer then if i didn't smoke at all?

Make sure you know what your talking about before you post. I know half of you are going to say that i will get cancer so don't do it. Really? from 1 cigar a month? I find that very hard to believe. I think the affects of smoking go away with a certain period of time, so one a month will not "build" up into a problem. I honestly need a doctors opinion on this but maybe some help from the public will be good as well.

Please don't post saying that i will get addicted! i know these facts already as iv'e done alot of research on the topic. Don't post saying the kinds of cancer i can get, i know that already. I simply want to know -

IS 1 CIGAR A MONTH BAD FOR MY HEALTH~~

Haha yea I realized after I started the thread that some people might get offended because I know this forum is filled with people trying to quit smoking.  I know smoking is bad, and I believe you have the willpower to quit... don't give up!

Sorry about the sarcasm orange but I was pissed off when I read that you could smoke once a month and here I am, counting the hours, days, months, hoping that I will have the willpower to continue my quit. It was kind of "in your face" and you hit a nerve.

You definitely have the wrong forum.....kind of like asking a person who can't hear if  they like a certain band : )
George Burns smoked a cigar daily and lived to a ripe old age (almost 100) so perhaps one a month isn't so bad.
Kathy Jo
p.s.
don't smoke : )

LoL i know this is the wrong place to post this.  I simply didn't find a forum under the doctors help spot that related to this. (i may not have looked hard enough). Anyway I am by no means in denial which i have been accused of many times.  From my own research, and posting on other boards, i'm becoming more of a 3 times a year cigar smoker haha.  It's not worth it to possibly have health problems later on in life.

The only reason i'm grumpy is because both replies to this post are exactly what i asked you NOT to do.  I UNDERSTAND it's the wrong forum, but it pisses me off that people seem to dance around this question and never answer it.

Well, I guess YOU didn't read the disclaimer on the left here.  This forum contains MEMBER COMMENTS.  For a doctor's comment, please go to the top of the page, click on "Forums" then click on the right side for "Ask a Doctor".

I think those cloved cigarettes, which, by the way, are just as harmful as regular cigs, I looked it up, and cigars are making you grumpy!

You are in denial about this, I believe.  Good luck with THAT!

I understand this is the wrong forum, but i'm having trouble finding the right forum. I understand i need a doctors opinion.  But you apparently didn't read my question right.  I want doctors statistics.  I don't want you to tell me smoking is ok in moderation.  I said "make sure you know what your taling about" meaning make sure you are a doctor or have done alot of research yourself.  I didn't expect smokers that are trying to quit to be able to answer my question.  However I did expect an answer that you gave me, telling me how closed minded i am, and thats what i was trying to avoid.

["Make sure you know what your talking about before you post"]

Tell me what it is you want to hear and I will post it.
You obviously know what it is you are going to hear by asking that question so let me know what it is you want to hear to make your monthly transgressions alright.

No one here on this forum is a doctor so if you want to ask a professional, then you had better make an appointment with your physician. We are all here to quit smoking so you have the wrong forum. Try posting to the "justification" forum.
Good luck to you.........we struggle daily.
