I'm sorry to hear that : ( I would get myself to the doctor right away. I don't know that headaches are a "known" side effect, but you don't want to chance it.

So many different opinions on Chantix and it's a shame that it doesn't work for everyone the way it worked for me. I had no problems other then an occasional upset stomach. For me, it was a miracle drug, though so many have complained of many things.

Please write again and let us all know how things are going, good luck!

I tried chantix...I don't remember having headaches but I do remember that as the days passed I felt more and more "weird"...by the eighth day I found myself just sitting on my couch all curled up like my muscles were contracting and I was just kinda like a zombie. I decided I would not continue to take the chantix since it felt like I was becoming catatonic or something.
I wouldn't be surprised though if it's the med causing your headache. Did you get to the doctor yet? Hope you are feeling better.

I never took this but have heard horror stories as well as success stories. I am sensitive to any med so I never wanted to go there. I would be a horror story! Just depends on the individual and their personal reaction.

I hope by now you have stopped taking the chantix.  My son took it for 3 months and although he did quit smoking, the side effects have nearly put us over the emotional edge.  He had mild side effects while on it, the dreams, slight stomach ache, manageable headaches, but... when he went off it, the whirl wind began.  He began with terrible hives, then numbness, dizzy, foggy, moody and the latest is he has been diagnosed with panic and anxiety.  It has been 9 months of hell since taking that medicine and I can't warn enough people to not take the chance.  My son had to take a medical leave from college and couldn't even drive.  Finally now, he is seeing a therapist and taking lexapro and we are starting to see his old self back.  The therapist has said that these symptoms are more common than not and he has treated many before my son.  He explained that chantix rewires the brain and that effects more than just the urge to quit smoking -  many other receptors are affected.  Who knew?  Good luck.
