hello i would like to quit tobacco i have tried patches but they either make me sick or dizzy i have tried a less strong patch but always start to smoke agian within a week. i had a hns worker who was a waist of time she was very negative so i though she dos'nt want to help so why stop iv'e smoke since the age of 10 im now 38. i would like to stop not only for myself but for my family also as my kids want to be "just like me when they grow up". also cancer runs in our family my grand parents all died from cancer my uncle has had cancer also but beat it. i would try again if given the proper suport i would like to try the tablets you take for a week or so then stop i cant remember what their called though. has anybody got any advice.

It sounds as if you have the incentive to quit. Your children, your family history, all are good reasons.
I'm sure that everyone will have a different method, and in the end, it's whatever works for you. I quit using Chantix (Champix in the U.K.). I smoked for 38 yrs. and never though I could quit. What is really important and essential to staying "quit" is to have support. It is also important to understand why we smoke and what our triggers are. An excellent source for those things are at whyquitdotcom
The articles on that site really do cover anything you might want to know.
Keep posting here as there are many who are feeling the same as you and some who have quit and are trying to stay quit. We are a good support group : )
