quit smoking, health scare and hospital trips

Ok im a 21 year old hispanic male, i smoked for about 2 years, at about 5 ciggs a day. I quit smoking after i started getting some tightness in my chest! It went on for 2 weeks everyday. So finally i got a breathing attack in the car and my parents took me to the hospital. They took an EKG and an x-ray of my chest! The doctor told me i was a healthy young man, and it wasnt my heart or lungs! It was some relief, then the next day i started feeling tightness and an annoying sensation again! Then i took another trip to the hospital. They also did an ekg, x-ray, and they had me hooked up to a machine to monitor me for about 2 hours! They also told me i was healthy and it wasnt my heart or anything. But still 3 weeks after the tightness and 2 hospital trips. I still have tightness in my chest, it gets annoying, and im constantly depressed, because im afraid the doctors missed something, and something bad will happen! Please help me. Thank you

You might also consider seeing a pulmonologist to rule out asthma and emphysema or both........At your age you are probably fine, but even tho you are fine now, its always good to quit while you can.

Please look into posting in our anxiety and depression communities.  If you have been to the hospital on multiple occasions and the doctors keep saying you have nothing to worry about, then it may not be a physical problem.  The pain and fear from a panic attack can be very real, but there are definitely ways to overcome it!

Good luck!
