You would have to get a hearing and do hire a social security lawyer to represent your case you need you doctor to prove that you are disabled and stating why you are unable to work. also give your lawyer all medical records. If you lose the hearing you can get an appeal your layer will know exactly what to do. I know people that after one and two appeals they finally won their cases so never give up on your rights.
I am going thru the process of applying for my SSDI also. I have not had my first determination but I suspect it will be denied. I hear almost 60% are denied the first time around. You have 60 days to file an appeal. I would start a new claim as you will just be repeating the same steps over. It has been suggest to me that I hire a disability lawyer to represent my case. I hear they charge if they win the case for you and I think it is based off your back or a procentage of your award...not sure about that. It has been reommended to me to contact a site for Allsup for help. Good luck and let me know what you do. Thanks, Hey Jude
