Post cancer speech

by cooper10, Oct 31, 2009 05:47AM
My father has recently undergone major surgery to remove a large tumour from his jaw bone and several from the lymph nodes in his neck. As a result he also lost a sizeable chunk of his pallette and Tongue. Consequently his speech has become virtually unintelligible. It's very frustrating for all concerned to try and converse with him, as half the time he forgets his 'problem' and his words pour out as complete confusion.

What I'm trying to find out is if there is a product that could be recomended that he could use to amplify his voice from his voice box, like a throat mic of some sort. Does anyone know of such a thing and where I might get one in the UK?

Many thanks
