I'm writing a screenplay and want to know if a 7 yr. old child can lose her speech by a shocking event and regain it 2 yrs. later while having a nightmare? Richard

The first part is definitely possible, but regaining language under traumatic condition is unlikely. I suppose anything is possible. Look up selective mutism as you're researching your book.
