Bend Spine and Back Pain

Well, my friend is facing severe problems because of a very uncommon disorder. Probably it started 4-5 years back where her spine is bending.....The issue was not present not from her birth...She often faces severe back-ache..evn her standing posture is also not normal...Though the bending is not severe and becz of this surgery is also not recommended by doc.....I hve searched a lot n found somthing like Scoliosis and Kyphosis.....I dnt know she is actually facing any of them or not...but d fact is..the symptoms are not critical...she can walk, can do cycling, study,.....bt its affecting her work load.....i hope u can undersatnd what i m trying to say.
i therefore ask u.....what is it actually.....is dere ny proper treatment....Some docs recommended Braces but with braces she is not able to do anything....is there any medicines or exercises which can cure it...
Thank You

Hi, there is not a way to cure scoliosis, some times u can have surgery with rods and other hardware places to help hold the spine straight, but not everyone is a candidate for this...and if a Dr did not suggest or offer the surgery then ur friend is not a candidate, meaning it is not going to help.

Ur friend can try different exercises to strengthen her back muscles, and posture....have  them look into Feildenkrais Method to see if it is helpful and what the Drs  think about  it as well.

The exercises will only help make her muscles stronger...not sure if it can help slow the progression of this condition....she should talk to her Dr to make  sure what she intends to try is ok....and see what he / she may suggest as well.
