Cortisol Levels in Anxiety??

Cortisol Levels in Anxiety??

I have problems with anxiety. I just had a baby 7 weeks ago and ever since then I've been having lots of anxiety that seems to come from nowhere, even without me being stressed. I'm wondering if maybe my coritsol levels are messed up or something? I don't know anything about it, does anyone else?

I had my thyroid tested while I was pregnant and my levels were normal. Could it change that quickly?

Thanks!

I believe that thyroid among many other hormones could change that fast.  You could be experiencing post partum (SP?) anxiety and mood swings.  It could get dangerous if you don't get some professional help now.  Psyc. or OB doctor should be told of your problems. There have been women that have killed their children when hormones are out of wack.  Please call someone today.  Let a family member keep your baby until you get this taken care of.  PLEASE

Yes cortisol will increase with stress and eventually you can wind up with Adrenal Fatigue. You can get it tested. A saliva test seems to be the most accurate, but if you can't get that, your doc can do a blood test. Talk to him about a morning and evening test.
