Is this a sign of mental illness

Ok guys I think i should be asking this in the HIV community but I do not want the moderator yelling at me.I got oral sex from a girl, and every doc I ve been to never tests me for hiv(I ve been cleared for all std's) From all my research  I ve found no one getting hiv from a ** and all the risk goes to the person giving the oral.Plus the HIV counselor said I was ok,so why am I feeling still stressed about it with all this research on my side and doc opinion even the moderators said I am ok.
The tester told me a majority test pos 22 to 25 days out i was tested on 31 days out. I ve developed chronic stress symptoms. The paranoid thoughts come and go about this.Do you think I am developing a a mental illness?

hi there,
as you been told, you did not have a risk and further you had a test wich at 31 days, detects 95% of the cases, and 99% if its a DUO test.  This is strong evidence that HIV its not your problem.
In the past, i went through what you are going through.  Everything I googled turned into reality.  Your mind is very powerfull.  stress can weaken your inmune system thus making your more prone to catch a real  disease and not to mention that the constant thinking on this can deteriorate your overall life. This time youre spending on this will not come back.
Your subconscious mind does not distinguish the facts from fiction.  It just cares about what you're conscious mind is constantly asktelling, and that is that you're sick. this habit gets worst and worst if you don't stop it.   You need to reverse that by :
1) telling yourself over and over that you are healthy and there are no records in history of infection in the way you were exposed.  Science its in youre corner!
2) stop googling, its feeding you're anxiety.l
3) if this doesn't work. test again -- it will be negative.
4) get an activity that can substitute your thinking time on this.  Go to the gym, play a video game.
5) grow from this experience. think that everything happens for a reason. what can you take out of this difficult time?
You'll be over it in no time.  it will pass.  trust me.
hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your input,I am glad I am not the only one that has gone through this.I use to work out a lot and well my mind just destroyed me,so time to get back into shape. Random question I got  a quick oral swab test, does that have the 95% as well?

yeah buddy,
these tests are as sensitive as the lab based test.  There is only a small differente in terms of specificty. Becuase they are highly sensitive and less specific than lab based test, they will yield from time to time what its called a 'False Positive'.  But if your results its negative, then its negative.
Hope this helps!
