Relaxation tips

by rodneyw71, Oct 06, 2007 09:08PM
I have high blood pressure, went to Walmart and checked it yesterday, it was 148/84.  I'm a Male, 36 6'1 170 lbs, don't drink or smoke, I walk a mile and a half a day, and run about once a week.  I joined a health club and am going to get more active.  I am a very antsy person, I cannot seem to relax ever, my family seems to demand alot from me, I work long hours in a job that I hate, but am a member of the Air force Reserves, which I love, and it seems to be the only enjoyment I have, people are always telling me to just relax, I have been this way my whole life, can somebody help me out, I'm afraid that one of these days I'm going to get burnt out on everything,

You need to find something to do, like hobbies, golfing or any activities that involve friends. Turn off your phone and just watch
TV and enjoy it

you might try Tai Chi..I don't think you need more agressive
exercise but find a way  to breathe right and learn to relax your body
there are classes that help hyper people...get in touch with yourself
by examining yourself as to when you begin to have those feelings
you know find the cause so you can find the cure...it might even be
more spiritual ??? maybe you don't really know what would make you
content or do and can't bring it about...do you feel like you have to
be the answer to  all the demands made on you?? take time out for
yourself  first and investigate further into the Reserves ...maybe that
is a clue to where you should really be??? actually your blood pressure is only elevated not really high but it might be from the
resentment, anger or  anxiety.etc....you are feeling....discontented
Tai Chi is what I discovered what helped me when I felt similar
feelings... it makes you take time for yourself...good luck
