Am I having a stroke?? Need help please..

Hi there, first I want to say that I am going to go to the doctors, I am waiting on them to call me with an appointment but in the mean time I am a little freaked out and wanted to see if someone on here had any advice for me? I am tempted to go the ER. So I first noticed this about 2 weeks ago. My ear kept tingling off and on, the back of it kept itching and I kept scratching. My lymp nodes swelled behind my ear and down my neck. The skin was open and leaking yellow stuff. The doctor said to put a warm compress on it and see if it got worse that antiobotics are over used. Sorry for spelling.. So after doing that and taking advil the swelling started going down and the skin healed in about a week. Ok so since then I have noticed that the tingling has gotten worse LIKE ALL THE TIME now, and its not only my ear, its my face and my tongue. Sometimes my arm, neck and scalp (head). It is mostly on the left side but I have felt the tingly feeling maybe 3 times on the right. Tonight I had a tongue spasm. Never felt anything like that before though I have spasms all over my body all the time and usually ignore it. the tingle feeling is like cold... I also notice that I have been HOT lately like sweating. I have had a headache off and on also. Other then that I am ok I guess. So needless to say I am a little freaked and my doctor is slow getting me in though I cant complain cause I just lost my job and have no ins. they said that would give me a discount, so what do you all think? Should I just go to the ER? Does this sound serious? I am trying to keep my cool and not let the anxiety get the best of me. Bodies are so strange sometimes huh?

Thanks

Hi mrsboston,
The symptoms you mentioned do not sound like a stroke to me. I had a stroke and I know some of the things that happen are confusion, slurred speech, sudden eye problems like peripheral problems or seeing floaters or stars, and paralysis of your arms or legs or limping and/or losing your balance or falling. It looks to me like you have a skin or ear problem.

Now I will say that anything can happen after a stroke, but what I mentioned are the most common symptoms of a stroke. I do not not want you to worry about having a stroke, but if you have something that is bad enough to make you stressed out and can't wait to the doctor, then go to the ER. Our bodies always tell us when something is wrong.

I wish you well,
Tim
