Wanting to know if testing for Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, CAA, is standard procedure for someone who had a hemorrhagicHemorrhagic stroke stroke that wasn't determined to be an AVM? What is the test if any? Should we ask for a test?
a biopsy would give you a definitive diagnosis. But since there are no treatments, it is probably better to wait. unless your doctor is deciding whehter to give you something like coumadin (in CAA it would be relatively contraindicated), you probably don't need to go for the biopsy. sometimes CAA is just assumed in case of multiple hemorrhagicHemorrhagic stroke strokes and no other underlying conditions.
