Can mri miss ischemic stroke?

I had a flu like virus so was weakened. Went to dr who ruled out strep but told me to come back if not better. It moved into earache so I was going to dr. was very dizzy but figured it was ear. When I walked to the door I fell and couldn't get up or even crawl. Luckily someone called ambulance. I had high bp, slurred speech, weakness on one side, visual problems etc and was told I had stroke but it is not ahown on mri or ct. I was in hospital and regab for 3 weeks. My insurance denied disability based on mri. I'm still not able to properly function, drop things, fall down, forget, use wrong words etc  How can I, find out if this is possible? I even went to psych to ensure I want having some kind if emotional issue. I don't know how to find a dr to help and even what type of specialty. I've used most of my savings on diagnosis and I've had'opinions' of brain stem lacunar and other strokes, suggestions if tbi from the fall even meningitis but no 'proof' to satisfy ins. Thanks for any help.

Hmmm.  Get another opinion.  Herpes encephalitis can present just like that (did they do a LP?).  It's disabling and your insurance company can't dodge that diagnosis for disability.  But they have to prove it (looks way different from a stroke).  You need a top notch radiologist to look at those MRI'S / CT's.  (Sorry so late, but I posted this in case someone else has a similar experience)
