Did I have a TIA?

by ImissAtari, Oct 28, 2009 09:24AM
Last night, me and my fiance were sitting on the couch watching TV. I started feeling a little sick, a little nausea. Recently I have been dealing with some yet-to-be-determined stomach issue (possibly just stress related) and have nasea medication at my disposal. I got up to take one and while walking to the kitchen started feeling really weird. I understand the dizziness you feel if you are laying down and get up to quick, but this was to the nth degree. I started feeling a numb sensation in my entire body and was feeling like I was going to pass out. I reached for the cabinet but was having trouble finding the medication, I knew it was there but couldn't find it. I started getting really confused and tried to stay focused on what I was trying to do but I was dropping medication bottles on the counter and had a hard time finding what I was looking for. I eventually put everything back in the cabinet and gave up looking. I went back to the living room and sat down, still feeling nauseous and dizzy. My entire body was still numb and tingling, similar to the feeling of a leg falling alseep. I started getting a ringing in my right ear and then couldn't hear out of it at all. It also sounded like there was a "clicking" sound or something - I asked my gf to turn the tv down thinking thats what it was but I could still hear it. I couldn't concentrate, or really explain to her what was going on. All I could say is "i don't feel right, I think something is wrong". I had a hard time explaining what I was feeling, and a hard time understanding what was going on.

All my research i did this morning said I should of gone to the hospital when it happened. Upon advice from friends I made a doctor appointment today.

A little history, I am 25 and I have been dealing with migraines for a few years now. I used to get them at least once a week but they have subsided to no more then once a month since I quit smoking. I drink plenty of water through the day and try to eat right as I know all the above can bring out a migraine for me really easily. I have had a few blood tests done lately and have lost weight due to my stomach issues.

Any thoughts?
