Dilantin

by Sugarann, Dec 02, 2004 12:00AM
I had a major stroke six years ago and ave recovered everything but  sill have a lack of balance enough that I must walk carefully.

There was no brain surgery. I was put on Dilantin 100 mg x 3 times daily. i have never had a seizure and all my doctor can say about the Dilanin is that he is afraid to take me off of it. As far as I know, he never tests my dilantin level. If there have been any side effects, I don't know wht they have been.

I want to know why I am still taking this drug? Is it helping me? I it hurting me? No one seems to know. If I decide to come off this drug, would I be putting myself at risk of another stroke?

With prescription drug prices seeming to be at the root of every problem in the economy, why do I need to take this drug forever?

If anyone can answer my question, please do.
