Long-lasting effects of a tia

My husband  had a tia 5 months ago and at times his personality changes.  Could this be caused from the tia?

Hi

A TIA by definition has its symptoms resolved within 24 hours.

There are a few things I can think of, repeated TIAs, permanent damage, psychological affects of his close call (TIA).

If you continue to be concerned have a word with his neurologist.

n discuss this with your husband but use finassei still go through thedepresssion with my stroke from more than 6 yrs ago but i have very few i can talk to it is a lildisappionting but im learning to cope

My husband jim had three bad ear infection then took TIAin august 2008 . he was in hospital for four days  when he came out he ws a bit weak and of balance .his doctor put him on 40mg simvastatin ,2.5mg ramipril, 75mg asprin, since then he is shacking inwardly ,burning and tingling all over body , preasure in head and ears ,clicking jaw, sore neck down left side of ear ,twitching in muscles all test he had are all clear can anyone help as he is desprite

Your husband needs to see  a neurologist because it sounds like he has had a stroke. The TIA diagnosis may have been wrong. All tests being clear just means they have not found the real reason yet. This forum will not be able to diagnose it, we can only give our opinions based on our experience.

jim has been to see a neurologist  she sent him for a MRI scan  everything came back clear  she said there was nothing she could do so she sent him to  an ear specialist and jaw specilest but both of them said it was an nuroligel problem we dont no where to turn next jim has came of his simvastatin to see if it could be them he has only been of them for four days but stills feels the same he goes to see his doctor  on tuesday  so we will find out what she will do next
