My mother, 77 year old active lady had a stroke on May 11th, 2008. She did not lose any strength in her leg or arm, the only thing that was affected was her speechHearing or speech impairment - resources Speech disorders and her left side of faceFace pain. Since then, she has returned home and is doing much better with her speechHearing or speech impairment - resources Speech disorders but has some memoryMemory loss Mental status tests problems. She does realize this and just doesn't understand why it is so difficult for her to remember.
One majorMajor tears Major-gesic concern that I have is that she has no appetite at all and I was wondering if there was anything that could be done to bring back some of her appetite. She was never a big eater but at least could eat her 3 meals, now we have difficulty eating 2 meals a day. It just doen not want to go in.
The other, is she has lost interest in all the things she love to do before. EX: her flowers, doing her linen washing, ext... She says that she realizes it has to be done but just has no interest or initiative to do it. I realize that this happens but is there any activity that we could do to bring some of this back. She says it frustrates her to be like that cause she finds she does nothing at all for a whole day.
