Stroke and double vision

hello

my 55 years old father had a Cardiac Catheterization 18 days ago 31 of march 2005 and during that had a stroke,
now he lost his ability to stand walk or do anything by himself, he lost his ability to focus, he cannot focus with his eyes, he see everything double or not clear,he cannot move his eye up or down only to the side. 3 days ago his left eye was closed,(he can see eith his eye but cannot open it anymore by himself), he is allways tired and his speak is not clear at all,
he is confused and cant talk for more then couple of sentences.
the ct showed that he has an infarction in the talamos area of the brain.
will he get out of it?
dows his eyes come back to normal?
will he be able to walk and be independent again?

thank you in advance for your answer.

Yaron

Hi,

How is your father? Depending on the location of the stroke, it can result to altered smell, taste, hearing, or vision, weakness of the face, balance problems and even  memory deficits and disorganized thinking or confusion. With stroke, it is important to work with a rehabilitation team to help with recovery of your father. Take care and do keep us posted.
