Strong, intermitent jab on the left side of the head

Since last Sunday (6 days now), I have had a strong headache on the left side of my head, just above my left ear.  It is like an intermittent jab that make me stop for a moment what I am doing.  There are no other apparent symptoms.  Usually, I don't take any pain medications.  However, I have been taking Advil since then, even though the pain is not gone.   Could you tell me the symptoms of a blood clot, stroke or any idea what this pain may be related with?

I had a similar experience but also noted jaw stiffness. Dr diagnosed Temporal Arteritis otherwise known as Giant Cell arteritis. Had biopsy of artery in the temple. Given high dose of Prednisone for 1 year which sorted it out. Can be dangerous if not dealt to as may cause blindness.

Thank you.  I went to the doctor.  Fortunately, it was not a serious problem.  It seems there is a ramification of nerves around that portion of the head that, for any reason, was bothering me.  The doctor prescribed a medication for that and I am much better now.
Thank you.

Hi,
All I can say is get to a dr. asap maybe a MRI is needed.  If it is a blood clot, you don't want it to burst, trust me on this,
good luck and God bless,
Maureen
