TIA-Stroke - when will speach return to normal ?

4695125?1248495054
Hello all, I was suffering symptoms for 6 weeks before I went to the E.R. I was admitted and discharged 7/23. When will I be able to speak properly without slurring or sounding  garbled?

Hi

Sorry to hear about your episode :(

The symptoms of a TIA, by definition, resolve within 24 hours.  So I guess you had more than a TIA.  Have you been given this information.

Re your speech, are you having speech therapy?  This will be the best way to help improve.  I don't know how long things will take to improve, every stroke is different.  I noticed some improvement after 6 months & it has kept improving (now 19 months post).  My speech therapist told me just to keep talking as my therapy, LOL :)

All the best & keep working at it.

HTH
