My 81 year old Mother has had 3 mini strokes. Since her face droops and her speach has been affected. She has been seeing things and they are just not there. she says my Dad is with her at night but he has not been with us for over 15 years. Is this the norm?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The symptoms which manifest in stroke will  depend on the area of the brain affected. If the temporal lobe is affected, she can have irrational thoughts or hallucinations. Also, besides the stroke, if there is cerebral atrophy or dementia due to aging this could be causing her symptoms. Discuss her symptoms with her treating physician, as there are medications to improve the blood flow to the brain.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
