I had a massive bleeding stroke in September 2005. While I was comatose in Neuro ICU I developed pneumonia. This is a commonCommon cold problem following stroke, especially where the patient has to be ventilated (put on a respirator). I am not providing medical advice here; I only offer my experience. May I ask, how long were you comatose & what, if any, blood thinner medication were you on? My dad died recently from a massive bleeding stroke. He was in a coma right afterwards & the next day he was brain dead.
