field defect

by carol05, Jun 09, 2009 07:30PM
After surgery about a year and a half ago, when I first started driving I noticed a vision change.  I went to my optomitrist and after examining my eyes, he suggested I have a MRI of the brain.  As he suspected, it showed I had a tiny stroke.  I was diagnosed with left homonynous field defect.  I have regained some of the vision loss and am wondering if after this length of time I could possibly regain even more.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I feel like I have regained some or either I have adjusted.  My neurologist told me that the dead cells won't come back, but the injured ones could.  He also put me on Plavix to help prevent another stroke.  The MRI only showed a little white speck.  It's amazing that something that tiny can cause such a problem.  Like I said, I didn't loose much but any at all is too much.
