hand recovery timeline

hi i am 36 years old and i had a stroke 4 week ago , at onset my left side was totally paralyzed,now i am able to walk,close my hand, bend my elbow move my shoulder but no wrist movement and unable to open my hand i read on internet that if i not able to open my hand at 4 week it is a bad sign for hand recovery

please share your hand recovery progress timeline

I second the advice above.  You have not had long since your stroke.  I would question your reading on the internet.  People continue to make progress especially during the first 6 months to a year, but even more after that, but you need therapy to help you.  Maybe even physical therapy.  If that doesn't help, look into Botox injections which could unfreeze your hand.  Good luck.

Hi!

Have you visited any of your local occupational therapist? It is recommended for you to visit an OT since as you said its been 4 weeks and your hand has not recovered or show any sign of improvement.

Have you tried some massage therapy to would help the muscle and tendons in your hand?
