longterm effects of a tia

I have had tat least 3 episodes of slurred speech and left side weakness/numbness over the past 2yrs(TIA).. The most recent was a few weeks ago. However, no blood clots or dots are ever seen on my MRI. Thereafter, I am always left with left side excruciating pain and numbness in the cheek. My neuro says she can't explain the lasting pain and is not sure what is going on. Is anyone else experiencing this or make some recommendations?

you may have had a stroke; I would begin taking an aspirin a day and get checked for cholesterol, hi blood pressure etc
