It means a tonsil is not in the normal place.

  Hi...is this from a brain MRI? if so, u would be having Head aches and many other neuro symptoms....if the tonsils are herniated due to a congenital malformation it is referred to as Chiari....a CINE MRI would be done next to see if u have a CSF obstruction .....

Do u have copies of ur MRI?
