sleeping position

Have SIDS deaths been shown to be unrelated to sleeping position, i.e. face down vs face up?

The current recommended for reduction in SIDS deaths is to put your baby to sleep face up.  Once they can roll over on their own, the risk of SIDS drops.

When my 1st child was born they said put them on their back and by my 4th child they said put them on their belly. I always put my children on their side with a sleeping wedge. It's 2 triangle shaped pillows that lay on both front and back of baby with a piece of material that the baby lays on that connect the 2 pillows. My baby Dr. (Children's Hospital of Cincinnati) said that is how she prefers to lay babies. Good luck sweetie!
