Thank you SO MUCH Dr. Choi for your response.  Two of four my children have asthma, and this being pollen season in Northeast, they can go into a full blown attack (needing Prednisone) with the slightest sniffle -- I did the same thing -- encouraged both my kids (16 & 18yrs old)  to use their Advair at the earliest symptom from pollen allergies to be proactive & keep thier immune system at its peak.

I was reading this (below) about the Spanish flu and I was wondering if this was the case with the Swine flu ?

"The strong immune systems of young adults ravaged the body, whereas the weaker immune systems of children and middle-aged adults caused fewer deaths."

Swine flu claims life of first U.S. resident
Texas officials say woman with underlying conditions died earlier this week

This is sad. The woman who passed away was 33 years old and had recently given birth to a healthy baby. I know that many women who had just given birth, seem to have immune problems afterwards.
