I'm only very worried about it because I have a mother with COPD living with me.  I worry I could bring this home to her.  Otherwise, I take all the precautions.

I'm concerned because my job requires me to be in daily contact with hundreds of people... plus, I'm the caregiver of two elderly parents who are both in failing health.
I shutter to think what would happen if I bring a life-threatening virus into their home.

Am I correct in thinking we are hearing less of the swie flu or do you think the "shock" has just worn off?

I am a former Canadian living in the state of Nayarit, Mexico, just 15 minutes from Puerto Vallarta.  Although Canadian and American airlines panicked and cancelled flights to this tourist area until late June, there have been only two cases identified as swine flu in the early part of May, and none since.  In both cases, the sufferers were sent home after two days in hospital.  In fact, outside of the environs of Mexico city, the incidence of swine flu has been completely minimal.

Now our country is completely devastated by the huge economic loss.  People north of the border have no idea of the price Mexicans have paid to contain the so-called pandemic.  There are now children starving and parents dispairing because they cannot provide for their families.  They have lost their jobs and their dignity.  I doubt Canadians or Americans would undertake that kind of sacrifice to save the lives of another country's citizens.  Bless them all.

When you plan your holidays this year, please plan to come to Mexico and help pay back the sacrifice.  Her citizens would be forever grateful.
